Univision Radio and Television Inaugurates New Home!

Univision Houston is now one of the largest broadcast facilities in Texas


Houston, TX -- One of the largest broadcast facilities in the state of Texas, Houston’s Univision Radio and Television will officially inaugurate its new home on Thursday, October 19th, at its new location on 5100 Southwest Freeway.  The inauguration will count with the presence of clients, community leaders, and Univision Corporate executives, who will have the opportunity to tour the facility and view the state-of-the-art broadcast studios. Houston Council member Adrian Garcia will do the honor of leading the ribbon-cutting ceremony, on behalf of the Mayor of the City of Houston Bill White.

“We are ecstatic about officially welcoming the community into our new home and letting them see first hand how our joint efforts have strengthened our commitment to better serve and respond to their interests and needs,” said Craig H. Bland, KXLN and KFTH Vice President/General Manager.  Likewise, Mark Masepohl, Senior Vice President/Regional General Manager of Univision Radio, added, “we are very proud that through this broadcast center our two television and six radio stations, and local online presence have become a single force, and together, we are making a difference in our community.”

The new 100,000 square foot Univision building consists of: Univision KXLN Channel 45, owned and operated Univision Television Group station since October 1994; TeleFutura KFTH Channel 67, launched by Univision Communications Inc. in January 2002 in Houston and nationwide; Estereo Latino KLTN 102.9 FM, Recuerdo KOVE 106.5 FM, Que Buena KQBU 93.3 FM, Party KPTY 104.9 FM, Puro Tejano KRTX 980 AM, and La Tremenda KLAT 1010 AM, which became Univision Radio on September 2003 after the merger of Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation gave fruition; and Univision Online, launched in Houston in 2004. The new state-of-the-art digital facility features the latest in both television and radio technologies.
