Maná, Kumbia Kings, Alicia Villareal, Ivy Queen, Thalía, Ninel Conde, Don Omar, and Alejandra Guzmán Among Those to Perform at Univision’s “Premios Juventud” Youth Awards

Special Appearances to Include RBD, Wisin y Yandel, Karyme Lozano, Kate Del Castillo, and Luny Tunes


Miami, FL -- Univision Communications Inc. (NYSE: UVN) – Television’s #1 most popular awards show honoring recording artists, TV & movie stars, sports figures, and other personalities popular with this country’s Hispanic youth, “Premios Juventud” (Youth Awards), has released the list of performers and celebrity presenters scheduled to appear live from Miami on Thursday, July 13th at 8pm ET/PT (7pm Central) on the Univision Television Network.
 
Representing the wide range of musical genres popular with U.S. Hispanic youth, the 3-hour spectacular will feature performances by some of today’s hottest, most popular artists including urban cumbia super-group Kumbia Kings, Puerto Rican reggaetón artists Don Omar and Ivy Queen, Regional Mexican star Alicia Villareal, rock sensation Alejandra Guzmán, pop superstar Thalía, and a rare television appearance by influential Mexican rock group Maná to debut their newest single “Labios Compartidos.”

Also scheduled to perform are chart-toppers Bacilos, Calle 13, Cheka, Hector El Father, India, Rakim y Ken-Y, Reik, and Anaís.

Celebrities presenting awards will include chart-topping pop group RBD, reggaetón artists Wisin y Yandel and Luny Tunes, novela actresses Karyme Lozano, Marlene Favela, and Kate del Castillo, television personality Daisy Fuentes, racecar driver Milka Duno, and popular recording artists La Secta All Star and Nek.
 
“Premios Juventud” is Spanish-language television’s first ever awards show where Hispanic youth honor their idols in the areas of Film, Music, Sports, Fashion and Pop Culture. Last year’s second edition was seen by nearly 9 million viewers and was one of the most-watched specials on Spanish-language television.

Preceding the awards telecast, red carpet arrivals of performers, presenters and other celebrities will be featured on “Noche de Estrellas” (Night of Stars). Hosted by Karla Martínez of “Despierta América,” Rafael Mercadante of “Primer Impacto,” and Carlos Calderón of “El Gordo y La Flaca,” the red carpet pre-show will kick off the star-studded night with a live performance by hot hip-hop artist Chelo at 7pm ET/PT (6pm Central).
