Univision Announces Auditions for 2nd Annual "Nuestra Belleza Latina" Competition

Winner to Become a Univision Network On-Air Personality and Win $200,000 in Cash and Prizes

Miami, FL -- Univision announced today that auditions for  the second edition of “Nuestra Belleza Latina” (Our Latin Beauty), the network’s first-of-its-kind competition, will kick off on Saturday, October 13 in Chicago.

Once again, “Nuestra Belleza Latina” will search throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico for the most charismatic, intelligent and captivating Hispanic women who will face-off in a fierce competition that combines the excitement of reality television with the glamour and splendor of a beauty contest. But in this competition, looks alone are not enough to win. Once auditions are complete, sixty women will vie for the title of “Nuestra Belleza Latina 2008” and the opportunity of a lifetime: a contract as Univision’s newest on-air personality and the chance to win $200,000 in cash and prizes.

During her reign as “Nuestra Belleza Latina 2007”, Alejandra Espinoza has appeared or guest hosted on Univision’s most popular programs including “El Gordo y La Flaca,” “Despierta América,” “Primer Impacto,” and  the “Premios Juventud” youth awards, among others. She also toured the country making personal appearances, and was a judge for the Miss Venezuela Beauty Pageant.

“This has truly been the experience of a lifetime,” said Espinoza. “Just participating and having the opportunity to make friends with all the other talented women was a tremendous reward in itself. I would encourage any young Latina with a dream and determination to try out for this worthwhile competition.”

The shows will be hosted for a second time by Univision personality Giselle Blondet.  After a series of suspense-filled eliminations, the finalists will live together in a beautiful Miami mansion as they face a series of weekly challenges that will test their talent and character. These finalists will perfect their runway walk, work with stylists and make-up artists, sharpen their dancing and presentation skills, and undergo a rigorous fitness regimen. Throughout the competition, viewers will get an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look at the trials, tribulations, and often emotionally charged interactions between the contestants. Viewer participation will be a key factor in helping a panel of celebrity judges by casting their votes for their favorites. In the grand finale, the contestant with the most votes will be crowned “Nuestra Belleza Latina 2008.”
