Univision's 6th Annual "Premios Juventud" Youth Awards to Feature Stellar Performances by Paulina Rubio, Luis Fonsi, Cristian Castro, Alacranes Musical, Los Super Reyes, La Quinta Estacion, Alicia Villareal, Alexander Acha, Pee Wee, German Montero, Da' Zoo, Tito El Bambino, Shaila Durcal, Makano and Jenni Rivera

Former RBD Member Anahí Makes Highly Anticipated Return to the Stage as Solo Artist; Presents World Premiere of Her Latest Single Sports Legend Sammy Sosa to Receive Special Recognition Celebrity Line-Up Also Includes Espinoza Paz, Graciela Beltrán, Jesse y Joy, Jorge Celedón y Jimmy Zambrano and Yahir


Miami, FL -- Building on its long standing tradition of presenting the biggest music award shows on Spanish-language television, the Univision Network announced today the star-studded list of artists who will be part of the 6th annual “Premios Juventud” youth awards; the #1 awards show of its kind on television honoring recording artists, movie stars, sports figures, and fashion and pop culture icons popular with this country’s Hispanic youth. Broadcast LIVE from Miami, FL “Premios Juventud” will air on Thursday, July 16 at 8pm ET/PT (7pm Central) on the Univision Television Network.
 
The 2009 edition of “Premios Juventud” will serve as the launch pad for various artists premiering new singles, including Luis Fonsi with “Llueve por Dentro;” Pee Wee with “Cumbayá;” and Shaila Dúrcal with “Y Llegaste Tú,” among others. Also, former RBD member Anahí will make her highly-anticipated return to the stage as a solo artist to present the world premiere of her latest single. 
 
The show will also feature the stellar performances of Latin music icons Paulina Rubio and Cristian Castro; duranguense music group Alacranes Musical; Spanish rock group La Quinta Estación; regional Mexican music artists Alicia Villareal, Germán Montero and Jenni Rivera; reggaetón artist Tito El Bambino, cumbia super stars Los Súper Reyes; and young up-and-coming artists Alexander Acha, Da’ Zoo and Makano.
 
In addition, sports legend Sammy Sosa will be honored with a special award for his outstanding achievements in sports. Also, on hand will be popular artists Espinoza Paz, Graciela Beltrán, Jesse y Joy, Jorge Celedón y Jimmy Zambrano and Yahir, among others, to present some of the night’s hottest awards.
 
Preceding the awards show telecast, Univision will present exclusive coverage of celebrity arrivals direct from the “Premios Juventud” carpet starting at 7 pm ET/PT (6 pm Central).
 
“Premios Juventud,” always known for its fun and irreverent style, blew away the competition in 2008 reaching 10.6 million unduplicated viewers (P2+)*, making it one of the year’s top-rated specials for Univision.
