Shakira to Appear on Univision’s “Premios Juventud”
Crossover mega-star to join galaxy of stars
Miami, FL -- Univision announced today that Colombian recording star Shakira will make a special appearance on its upcoming “Premios Juventud” youth awards September 22, 2005. A recipient of seven “Premio Lo Nuestro” Latin music awards, Shakira will make her first appearance on the lively, youth-oriented awards show that recognizes popularity and overall achievement in five categories – Film, Music, Sports, Fashion and Pop Culture. Enjoying huge crossover popularity with today’s youth, regardless of cultural origin, her recent CD “Fijación Oral, Vol. 1,” is currently climbing the record charts and an English version will be released in the coming months. In addition to a glittering array of recording artists, TV personalities and other notables celebrating the awards recipients determined by the public, “Premios Juventud” will offer TV viewers exciting performances by some of today’s hottest, contemporary artists. The decidedly unconventional award categories include “CD to Die For,” “Best Moves,” “Sports Rookie that Rocks,” “Dream Chick,” “Hottest Romance,” and “Paparazzi’s Favorite Target” to name a few. For complete “Premios Juventud” coverage, including information on all of the nominees and a behind-the-scenes look at the show visit Univision.com, Uniclave: Premios Juventud (Keyword: Premios Juventud). The 2nd Annual Premios Juventud awards will air live on September 22 from 8pm-11pm ET/PT (7pm-10pm CT) exclusively on the Univision Network. Shakira's photo enclosed.
