Lorena is a sweet and hardworking girl who dreams of becoming a chef. In contrast, Sara is materialistic and loves the easy life. Both of them leave the orphanage the exact same day, but for very different reasons: Lorena moves to the city to start building her dream, while Sara, after being caught stealing the orphanage’s money, runs away taking both of their confidential files. When Sara discovers that Lorena is really the granddaughter of a powerful millionaire, Hortensia Armendariz (Maria Rubio), envy consumes her. She then concocts a plan of deceit and betrayal, stealing Lorena’s identity so she can blackmail her grandmother and finally start living the life she’s always dreamed of. Meanwhile, Lorena finds work in her grandmother’s gastronomic empire and meets a young doctor named Alonso (Gabriel Soto), with whom she falls deeply in love. Her newfound happiness seems complete when she unexpectedly runs into her beloved friend, not knowing of the treachery to come. When Lorena realizes her best friend has stolen everything that is rightfully hers, even her newfound love, Sara becomes her worst – and dearest – enemy.
