Guinness Makes it Official: “Sabado Gigante” is the World’s Longest Running TV Variety Show

Miami, FL -- Surpassing all other television shows on the planet, Univision Network’s top rated “Sabado Gigante” has been certified by the 2003 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s longest running variety show.

“Sábado Gigante” has been on the air every Saturday evening since August 1962. The unique music/comedy/contest/interviews show was created and has been hosted since its inception by the legendary showman Mario Kreutzberger, better known as “Don Francisco.” Previously cited as the longest running TV  show in America, today it is watched weekly by over 100 million loyal viewers in 42 countries worldwide. Produced and broadcast in the U.S. by the Univision Network, the program has consistently achieved sky-high ratings.
