Univision Radio Announces Confirmed Line-Up 8th Annual Amor A La Música Concert
Featuring Performances by Cristian Castro, Alejandro Fernandez, Juan Luis Guerra, Juanes, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Laura Pausini, and Alexandre Pires, among others
Miami, FL -- WAMR AMOR 107.5 FM, a Univision owned radio station, is gearing up to present another fantastic evening of musical entertainment with its hallmark event, AMOR a la Música 2007, to be held on Sunday, October 28th at 6:30 p.m. at the American Airlines Arena in Miami. The music-filled evening will feature live performances by some of today’s hottest Latin music stars. Part of the proceeds will benefit the Centro Mater Foundation, a local non-profit organization helping indigent children and their families.

AMOR a la Música has become Miami’s biggest Latin music event of the year. In its eighth year, the concert continues the tradition with an all-star line-up of chart-topping talent, which includes:
• Nine-time Latin GRAMMY® winner, including “Record of the Year”, Juanes will captivate the audience with his immensely popular Spanish rock melodies. His poetic anthems - fusions of rock, Latin beats, and Colombian folklore - have earned him millions of fans worldwide. He was also chosen by TIME Magazine as “One of the 100 most influential people in the world.”
• Nicknamed “El Potrillo”, Mexican-born singer Alejandro Fernandez is a Latin GRAMMY® winner and is famous for his mix of ranchera, pop and Latin music. He has sold more than 12 million albums worldwide. The self-titled debut album was released in 1992, and 15 albums later he has gained adoration from millions of fans around the world. His 2007 release, Viento a Favor, will no doubt be another classic.
• Infusing a mix of merengue, salsa, balada, rock & roll, and gospel, Juan Luis Guerra has become one of the most internationally recognized singer/songwriters in Latin music today. He released his first album, Soplando in 1984, with a group of local musicians from his native Dominican Republic. He went on to international fame and has since won multiple Latin GRAMMY® and Latin Billboard awards. This year, he was honored by the Latin Recording Academy as the 2007 Person of the Year.
• Called “The Salsa Gentleman,” Gilberto Santa Rosa is known world-wide for his unique style of “soneo”, which allows him to perform both tropical and romantic salsa music. He began his musical career as a singer and eventual band leader of La Grande Orchestra in his native Puerto Rico. Since then he has recorded highly successful solo albums. He has performed to sold out crowds at New York’s Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, and has received numerous awards throughout his long career.
• Famed for her soulful voice and romantic ballads, Laura Pausini is a multiple Latin GRAMMY® Award winner and two-time recipient of Montecarlo’s World Music Award. She has sold over 29 million records world-wide.
• Brazilian star, Alexandre Pires, began his career as a singer in the group So Pra Contrariar in the late 80s. His first solo album, the self-titled Alexandre Pires, was released in 2001. 2007 saw the launch of his latest effort, Un Idolo, a tribute album to singer Julio Igelsias.
• Mexican-born singer, Cristian Castro, has reached world-wide acclaim with his Latin pop albums. The GRAMMY® winning performer released his debut album, Agua Nueva in 1992. It was his hit song “Nunca Voy A Olivdarte” that made him a star. In 2001, he won a Grammy for “Best Latin Pop Album of the Year”for Azul. In June, he released his latest album, El Indomnable.

Part of the proceeds from the concert will benefit the Centro Mater Foundation, which helps build better communities by serving indigent children and their families. The organization acts as a fundraising entity for its own programs, as well as for other non-profit organizations whose primary goals include providing care and education for underprivileged children.
