Lots of Action Coming Up on República Deportiva
Univision’s uniquely entertaining sports show features extra-special guests this Sunday, airs live from New York next weekend, and presents exclusive weekly coverage of Central American soccer
Miami, FL -- On Sunday, Oct. 27, República Deportiva welcomes to its Miami studios:
- Oscar de la Hoya – Boxing’s “Golden Boy,” five-time world champion, gives his first major interview after his sensational knockout win over Fernando Vargas last month. De la Hoya is República Deportiva’s honorary godfather, as he appeared on the premiere episode of the show in April 1999.
- Iván Rodríguez – Recognized as the best catcher in the Major Leagues today, and one of the most impressive catchers of all time, Puerto Rican baseball star Iván Rodríguez talks about his life, his career and the Texas Rangers.
On Sunday, Nov. 3:
- República Deportiva airs live from New York City, with host Fernando Fiore, the show’s three gorgeous “senators,” and the beautiful “Miss República Deportiva,” Damaris Díaz.
- Fernando talks to famous sports writer Juan Vené, who analyzes and comments on this year’s eventful Major League Baseball season. Considered one of the best baseball commentators in the world, Vené’s columns appear in numerous publications in Latin America, as well as in New York’s “El Diario La Prensa.”
- Also featured will be Ecuadorian stuntman Angelo del Mónaco, a Guinness World Record Breaker whose most recent and outrageous feat consisted of having 80 motorcycles ride over him.
Every Sunday:
- República Deportiva is now the only sports show in the U.S. that includes complete coverage of Central American Soccer every week. Reporting on all the action is veteran soccer commentator Eduardo Solano, a native of Costa Rica with thorough knowledge of Central American teams and players. Solano has been a regular contributor to Univision Sports for over two years.
Hosted by Fernando Fiore, Rosana Franco and Jorge Gómez, República Deportiva airs LIVE on Sundays, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. ET.
