Galavisión Cable Network to Broadcast Over 5 Hours of Live Election Night Coverage
Miami, FL -- Galavisión, the #1 Spanish-Language cable network of Univision Communications Inc. (NYSE: UVN), the leading Spanish-language media company in the U.S., announced today that it will broadcast more than 5 hours of primetime and late night live coverage of the Presidential Election on Tuesday, November 2. Renowned Televisa news anchors Joaquín López Doriga and Leonardo Kourchenko will be reporting live from Washington D.C. from 7-11:30pm (4-8:30pm PT) on Galavisión's "Elecciones Presidenciales 2004" (2004 Presidential Election). López Doriga and Kourchenko will offer thorough analyses and report on the developing electoral count and official voter results. In addition, a team of experienced correspondents will contribute their views and insight from cities throughout the country including: New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Boston, San Diego, McAllen-Brownsville and El Paso. The political discussions will resume as López Doriga and Kourchenko return live from Washington D.C. to host "Mesa de Debate desde Washington" (Debate Roundtable from Washington) at 12:20-1:30am ET (9:20-10:pm PT). Accompanied by political analysts, including distinguished journalist Jesús Reyes Heroles, López Doriga and Kourchenko will examine how the outcome of the election will affect U.S. relations with Mexico and Latin America with emphasis on issues such as immigration, free trade and the Venezuelan government. On November 3, Galavisión will broadcast a second "Mesa de Debate desde Washington" with host and news anchor Carlos Loret de Mola, from 12:20-1:30am ET (11:20pm-12:30am Central).
