Eddie “Piolin” Sotelo interviews President Barack Obama on issues of importance to Hispanics.
New York, NY -- - In his first visit to the Oval Office, Eddie “Piolín” Sotelo from Univision Radio interviewed President Barack Obama about issues of importance to the Hispanic community. The interview will air on Thursday, May 7th on his nationally syndicated morning radio show “Piolín por La Mañana” (Piolín in the Morning).
“It is an honor to interview President Barack Obama from the Oval Office and have him speak directly to our community about the issues of concern to Hispanics,” said Sotelo.
In addition to interviewing President Obama, Sotelo attended the White House Cinco de Mayo celebration.
According to the U.S. Census, there are 45.5 million Hispanics in the U.S., representing approximately 15.1 percent of the U.S. population. Recently the Pew Hispanic Center said that in 2008, Hispanic eligible voters accounted for 9.5 percent for all eligible voters, up from 8.2 percent in 2004. In addition, from 2004 to 2008, the number of Hispanic eligible voters increased from 16.1 million in 2004 to 19.5 million in 2008, or 21.4%.
