Univision Unveils New Face of Univision.com
New York, NY -- Univision Interactive Media, Inc., the digital division of Univision Communications Inc., the leading Spanish-language media company in the United States, today unveiled the new face of Univision.com with a newly redesigned homepage. This is the first of many steps Univision is taking to evolve its digital strategy, expand its online network beyond the existing 10 sites, and offer new products and new programming for today's Web users.
“Building on a strong foundation, this redesign will enhance our users’ experiences and deepen their engagement with our products and programming as part of our continued efforts to extend our leadership position,” said Kevin Conroy, president of Univision Interactive Media. “We are also working to bring our online and mobile platforms closer together by developing a variety of interactive initiatives that will strengthen our position not only with consumers, but also with advertisers, publishers and Web developers.”
This new homepage reinforces Univision.com’s position as the primary source of Spanish-language content for U.S. Hispanics across the Web. The new features include:
• Extensive directory on the left navigation bar that makes it easier to browse the website • New search experience offers Internet search, site search and a customized video search • A carrousel that embraces the openness of the Web by providing direct access to the most popular email and social networking platforms • Easy access to Univision.com from all mobile devices • Expanded and easy access to TV and Radio from the homepage • New advertising capabilities
“Our goal is to empower our audiences to discover, experience and share entertainment, news and information through community-rich online and mobile platforms, anytime, anywhere,” added Conroy.
First launched in 2000, today Univision.com is the #1 Spanish-language portal for U.S. Hispanics1 with more than 39 million monthly visits, over 395 million monthly page views2 and 13 million monthly video streams.3
More than two-thirds of Hispanic adults are online, with Internet penetration growing five times faster with Hispanics than non-Hispanics over the past five years.4
