Comcast and Univision partner to deliver inaugural address in spanish on Video-On-Demand.
New York, NY -- Comcast Corporation (Nasdaq: CMCSA, CMCSK), the nation’s leading provider of cable, entertainment and communications products and services, and Univision Communications Inc., the premier Spanish-language media company in the United States, today announced their plans to deliver coverage of the Inaugural Address in Spanish through Comcast’s popular video-on-demand (VOD) service. For the first time, viewers will have extensive access to this historic event, delivered by two industry leaders in Spanish. President-elect Barack Obama's Inaugural Address will be available starting Tuesday afternoon Jan. 20 on Comcast On Demand, Channel 1 in “Top Picks” under “Barack Obama,” following the live broadcast on the Univision Network.

According to the National Association of Latino Elected Officials Educational Fund, between 9.6 and 11 million Latino voters cast ballots in the November 2008 Presidential Election, making it the largest turnout of Latino voters in history.

This partnership ensures that Comcast's lineup of viewing options for its millions of customers is available in English and Spanish. Comcast’s On Demand service has grown to feature a library of more than 10,000 titles available throughout the course of a month, with more than 1,000 available in HD at anytime. With On Demand, consumers can watch programs and have the ability to fast forward, rewind and pause selections. On Demand offers a wide variety of choices –– from movies, music and top TV shows to the most popular kids, sports and lifestyle programs.
The VOD Inaugural Address coverage, delivered in partnership with Comcast, is part of Univision’s extensive plans to bring Inauguration activities to its audiences through its television and online platforms.
