Nomination ballots are tabulated by the accounting firm of Ernst & Young. The "Premio del Pueblo Internet" (People's Internet Award) is given in five genres: Pop, Tropical, Regional Mexicana, Rock, and Urbana. All eligible artists are voted on for nomination by members of the public who log onto http://www.univision.com.
For "Video of the Year" record companies may enter up to five videos released during the eligibility period. Ten nominations are selected from the entries and the winner is selected by a jury of industry professionals.
