Univision’s WUVP and General Motors Philadelphia Area Dealers to Offer Free Auto Sales Training Program for Bilingual Hispanics
Philadelphia, PA -- Today local Philadelphia Chevrolet, Pontiac and GMC dealers, along with Univision (WUVP) and Business For Life, a training and coaching company that specializes in assisting corporations in the development of their Hispanic sales forces, announced the creation of a FREE career workshop designed to offer Philadelphia–area bilingual Hispanics sales training and potential automotive opportunities through a specially developed GM Certified Spanish Sales Training Workshop.
WUVP will promote the workshops to its viewers and encourage interested parties to call a toll-free number for additional information. Candidates will then be invited to attend a “Career Night,” where Saul Serna, President and CEO of Business for Life, will discuss the benefits as well as the skills needed to have a successful automotive sales career. All “Career Night” attendees will then be eligible to enroll in a GM Certified Program, from which the top graduates may have an opportunity for employment with one of the 160 participating member Philadelphia area Chevy or Philadelphia GMC/Pontiac dealerships.
“We are thrilled to be involved in this unique relationship with a diversity leader such as General Motors and its dealers. The initiative underscores our shared, multi-faceted commitment to empower Philadelphia’s thriving Hispanic consumer and entrepreneurial communities,” said Augustine Martinez, general manager of Univision WUVP. “This program truly has great potential to provide the local Hispanic community with the information and resources necessary to explore a meaningful new career in the automotive industry, and we are excited to be a part of it.” “This program is a milestone in our ongoing pursuit to improve the way in which General Motors and our dealers communicate with a growing base of Latino consumers. It’s about including talent that understands the culture and needs of these consumers, many of whom feel more comfortable in their native languages. It’s a business opportunity we cannot afford to pass,” commented Sonia María Green, Director of Hispanic marketing for General Motors.
With four years experience assisting Fortune 500 corporations with their Hispanic training initiatives, Saul Serna will deliver the GM Certified Sales Training Workshops on the fundamentals of selling new and used cars to Spanish-speaking or bilingual customers. The 21 hours of training will be divided between on-site and on-line formats.
