Digital Television Fair Comes to Phoenix

Univision KTVW 33 Invites Phoenix’ Hispanic Community to its “Grand Digital Television Fair”


Phoenix, AZ -- KTVW Univision 33 will celebrate its first Grand Digital Television Fair to help Phoenix residents better understand the transition to digital television (DTV) and how it will affect homes in Phoenix. The fair, which is free and open to the public, will take place this Saturday, June 7th, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The fair will take place at Caesar Chávez High School in Phoenix, located at 3921 W. Baseline Rd.  

The Grand Digital Television Fair will feature DTV experts from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Consumer Reports who will explain the process of the transition to digital television, the reason for the change, benefit to viewers, and provide tips for preparing for the transition with the smallest financial impact. The speakers’ exhibitions will take place several times during the fair, in a simple and accessible language to all.  The DTV experts as well as representatives of Univision 33 will respond to audience questions on the transition in general, and how it will affect the Univision and TeleFutura stations in Phoenix.

Univision 33 also will help the audience with the applications for the FCC discount coupons for converter boxes, showcase an array of converter boxes so that the public can compare them before buying and present workshops to demonstrate how to connect and use converter boxes.  Valley community organizations also will be in attendance to offer information and services on civil rights, prevention of child drownings, and health and nutrition information, among other topics.
 
Univision 33 will also give away 10 converter boxes and 10 antennas.
