Latin Music Icon Marco Antonio Solis Scores a Fourth No.1 Album on Billboard’s ‘Top Latin Albums’ Chart with New Record “Trozos de Mi Alma 2”
New single “Antes De Que Te Vayas” charts on Billboard’s music charts:
at No.7 on ‘Hot Latin Songs’ and at No. 4 on ‘Regional Mexican Airplay’
Woodland Hills, CA -- No doubt about it success has followed the path of Marco Antonio Solis’ destiny, one of the most influential and successful singer-songwriters in Latin Music, who once again scores a fourth No. 1 album on Billboard’s ‘ Top Latin Albums’ chart with his new album “Trozos De Mi Alma 2” for the week ending October 21, 2006.
In a milestone feat, four of Latin GRAMMY ® award winning artist Marco Antonio Solis’ recent recordings have debuted at #1 on the Latin sales chart in the United States. The other three albums that have garnered these positions are: “Razón De Sobra” (2004), “Tu Amor O Tu Desprecio” (2003) and “La Historia Continua” (2003).
Add to that the success of the first single titled “Antes De Que Te Vayas” charting on Billboard’s Latin music charts: sitting at No. 7 on ‘Hot Latin Songs’ and at No.4 on ‘Regional Mexican Airplay’ for the week ending October 21, 2006. This wonderful romantic cut is currently the lead song of popular Mexican soap titled ‘Mundo de Fieras’ currently airing in Mexico and in the United States on the Univision network.
On the heels of celebrating his 30th Anniversary in music, Marco Antonio Solis was recognized for his excellence in music with a ‘Special Edition’ of Billboard magazine.
On “Trozos De Mi Alma 2” Marco Antonio Solis delivers a sequel to his 1999 historic album that set the “standard for popular Mexican acts in the pop market and opened the doors for traditional Mexican acts to be heard around the world”, while garnering widespread recognition and certifications for the sales such as: RIAA Gold & Platinum in the United States, Diamond in Mexico, and Platinum in Latin America. “Trozos De Mi Alma 2”, features 10 magnificent cuts such as: “Antes De Que Te Vayas” (song interpretad by mexican songstress Laura Flores and popular group Grupo Indio), “Quién Se Enamoró”, “Te Voy Esperar”, “Hay Veces”, a clasic bolero “Pídemelo Todo”, “Extrañándote” & “Yo Creía Que Sí” (both sung by the late Roció Durcal), “Dios Bendiga Nuestro Amor” (sung by popular songstress Marisela), “Ojalá“ and “No Puedo Olvidarla”.
A team comprised of Marco Antonio Solis, Pablo Aguirre (arranger and co-producer), music engineer Benny Faccone combined their gifted efforts to produce this masterpiece in Los Angeles and traveled to the historical Abbey Road Studios (The Beatles) in London to record the magnificent string section.
