Univision Music Group Receives A Total Of 25 Nominations To The Latin Grammy

The leading Latin record label triumphs in the nomination to the 7th annual Latin Grammy


Woodland Hills, CA -- The leader in Latin Music, Univision Music Group’s artists garnered 25 total nominations to the prestigious Latin Grammy ®. Univision and La Calle Records earned 11 nominations; in addition Fonovisa Records earned 8 while Disa Records earned 6.

Univision and La Calle Records obtained a total of 11 nominations for the Latin Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, Latin Grammy 2006. Nominations for the elite roster of artist were earned in the following categories: pop, salsa, merengue, tropical, regional mexicano,  ranchero, banda y tejano. The nominees are: Anais "Asi Soy Yo" for best female pop album.  What started as a dream for Anais is now becoming a reality by obtaining a prestigious nomination for the Latin Grammy with her debut album. La India nominated for her album "Soy Diferente" as best salsa album. Tito Nieves was also nominated for best salsa album for his album "Hoy Mañana y Siempre", and for best tropical song with "Esa Boquita". Limit 21 with "Rankiao" as best Merengue Album, Ciclon with best Contemporary Tropical Album, Pablo Montero "A toda Ley" with best Ranchero Album, Lupillo Rivera "El Rey de la cantinas” as best Ranchero Album. The talented Graciela Beltran for best banda album with "Rancherisimas Con Banda".  El Coyote y su Banda Tierra Santa "Prohibido" for best Banda  Album,  and the legendaries La mafia with "Nuevamente" for best Tejano Album. 

Fonovisa earns 8 Latin Grammy nominations for it’s elite artists making them once again the leading label in the Regional Mexican category. The well respected idols, Los Tigres del Norte earned a nomination for best Norteño Album with "Historias que contar", The mother of all Bandas, Banda El Recodo obtain a nomination for best Banda Album with “Hay Amor".  Bronco ‘El Gigante De America earned a nomination for best Grupero Album "Por ti", in the same category Ana Barbara with “No es Bujería” and Guardianes Del Amor with “Decorame el Corazón". Conjunto Primavera, was nominated for Best Regional Mexican song with "Aun sigues siendo Mia".  Los Angeles de Charly was nominated for best Regional Mexican tropical Album with "Cuando te enamoras” and in the same category  Los Acosta with "Amor y Delirio". 

And if the was not enough Disa Records earned 6 nominations for its talented artists: Los Horocopos de Durango for best Banda Album with "Antes Muertas".  Brindys "Por mucha razones" best Grupero Album, Palomo" Passion" best Norteño Album , Los Angeles Azules" Exitos de Juan Gabriel" Mejor Album Tropical Reg. Mex, Tropical Panama "13 Cumbias" Mejor Album Tropical Reg. Mex and Tatiana "El Regalo 2" Mejor Album de Musica Para Niños.
 
The 7th Annual Latin GRAMMY® Awards show will be broadcast live on the Univision network (8:00/7 p.m. CT) from Madison Square Garden in New York City.
