Our Story

On January 14, 2002, the future of Spanish-language television was forever changed by the launch of TeleFutura, which was created to provide a new range of viewing choices for U.S. Hispanics. By "counter programming" traditional Spanish-language schedules with an innovative lineup of top-quality entertainment, TeleFutura satisfies the tremendous thirst for diverse programming that today's multifaceted U.S. Hispanic community demands.

Our Programming

The innovative programming offered by TeleFutura is distinct from that of Univision's other television networks and its Spanish- and English-language competitors. TeleFutura counter-programs existing Spanish-language television networks, airing alternative genres during nearly every daypart. For example, TeleFutura broadcasts hit movies against primetime novelas, first-run talk shows against daytime novelas, and originally produced novelas against news and talk shows. TeleFutura also features blockbuster sports programming, news briefs throughout the day, and a weekend morning kids’ block.

Movies
TeleFutura's signature programming is its monumental film library, which is among the largest ever assembled for Spanish-language television. With its leading Hollywood blockbuster titles, TeleFutura is the seven-day-a-week destination for film fanatics.

Sports
Hispanic America also turns to TeleFutura for more hours of sports programming than any other Spanish-language broadcast network. Hit programs include "Fútbol Liga Mexicana" (Mexican League Soccer) hosted by Pablo Ramírez and Jesús Bracamontes, and "Contacto Deportivo" (Sports Encounter), the only live nightly sports news program on Spanish-language television hosted, by Ricardo Celis and Jorge Pérez-Navarro.

Talk and Other Programming
Whether it's the outrageous talk and entertainment news of "Escándalo TV" (Showbiz TV), hosted by the beloved Charytín Goyco along with talented co-hosts Marisa del Portillo, Felipe Viel and Lilia Luciano-Rodríguez, or “La Tijera” (The Scissors) which analyzes the latest celebrity scandal, TeleFutura has the entertainment world covered. When it comes to real life cases, "Veredicto Final" (Final Verdict) is the only court show on Spanish-language TV with a bona fide judge. Cristina Pereyra presides over a courtroom where people can air their disputes regarding their family, workplace, neighbors, and even their lovers and know they’ll get a fair hearing…and a final verdict.
